But I'm aware of only one
You're my daydream come true
So please take that if you would
Of all the girls I've ever loved
I've decided you're the one
And I said, "I'm so in love with you."
And you said, "I feel the same way too."
Then I woke up and went to school
Reliving the dream I went through
Everybody was well prepared
But everyone was a little scared
Valentine's Day can make or break
The soul of a man who makes a mistake
But then I see you and all the days
Of waiting and planning have gone to waste
All of it goes out the door
I only have instinct and nothing more
What should I say?
Before you pass me and walk away?
If there's a time when we must fail
I know it seems to entail
This day because it seems
That I've never had luck with dreams
But now it's time to change all that
I won't walk away, I will fight back
Against the streak of luck
That's made me lose more than enough
I smell your perfume, you're in front of me now
I take a deep breath and open my mouth
Connor,
ReplyDeleteI love love this poem! I want someone to write a poem like this about me... This girl is so lucky! I like how you dont try and force the rhyme scheme and some of the words sort of sound alike rather than rhyme exactly. I think this poem is so romantic like how you say "youre my day dream come true" (you put "your" instead of "youre"). I like how the narrator he is going to take the chances and tell the girl he loves her. I like where it leaves off so the reader is left guessing about what he and she are both going to say. I love the title of the poem although I am curious about what the other ten decisions are. Your poem gives me hope that some guys have the capability to actually love. I hope that this poem is true and that you tell this girl that you love her. Great poem!

Thanks so much for the comment! I fixed the "you're" in the third line, thanks for pointing that out to me. I'm glad you liked the poem and can't thank you enough for the support!
